Corporal Dennis James Lyden was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served with the Horry County Police Department. His badge number was 353. In 2000, Corporal Dennis Lyden was shot and killed in the line of duty near the location of where the new home community of Lyden Village is being developed. Lyden Village is named after Corporal Dennis James Lyden.

• Coast RTA - Myrtle Beach area transportation system. Coast RTA provides safe, reliable, affordable and courteous mass public transportation that enhances the quality of life for residents and supports the growth of tourism.
